Choi Jin Sil and Park Yoo Chun’s Former Manager Presumed to Have Committed Suicide

Unfortunately continuing the devastating trend, the manager of Choi Jin Sil was found dead. 

On November 27, the Gangnam Police Department reported that a man named Mr. Park was found dead inside a hotel located in Yeoksam-dong. Empty packets of prescribed medicine, sleeping pills, and sedatives were found at the scene, making police presume that the death was caused by suicide. There was no will. Mr. Park was later revealed to be Choi Jin Sil’s former manager, who worked closely with the popular actress. Choi Jin Sil was called the nation’s actress and loved by majority of the Korean population. 

However, after a series of unfortunate events including domestic abuse, divorce, a friend’s sudden death, and false rumors, the actress committed suicide in 2008, sending shockwaves throughout the nation with strings of copycat suicides following after. Her younger brother, a popular actor and singer, Choi Jin Young, ended his life in 2010. Choi Jin Sil’s ex-husband and baseball player, Jo Sung Min, also committed suicide in 2013. 

After Choi Jin Sil’s death in 2008, Mr. Park continued working in the entertainment industry, serving JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun as his manager from 2009 to 2012. 

Hearing the news of Mr. Park’s sudden death, JYJ′s Park Yoo Chun was reported to be the first to arrive at the wake to pay his respects. C-JeS Entertainment stated on November 28 that Mr. Park worked at C-JeS Entertainment until May of 2013.
